2. business where you are currently employed and occupation

Analyst at IberAmerican Lithium Spain S.L., a Canadian-Spanish mining company.

3. What does your day-to-day work at work space consist of?

During my workshop, I prepare communiqués and reports on political news in the European Union and Spain, related to the processes in the field of strategic mining. I also maintain daily communications with the teams in Canada and Galicia. One of my last assignments has been to lead an important project to access a financial aid of the European Union.

The company was founded in mid 2023, so, being a new and small business , I have a very direct attention with the management team of the company. This is allowing me to participate in important processes, learn directly from professionals with a lot of experience in this field, and position myself within the business.

4. What things did you learn in the PPE that you are currently being able to apply in your work space?

The highly politicized nature of the mining business allows me to use all the tools of political analysis acquired during the Degree, from being able to understand the legislation published in the Official State Gazettes, to decrees coming from Brussels.

Being a private business , I have also had to use many of the concepts learned in the field of Economics, from carrying out accounting exercises, to understanding the global lithium market. My work requires a high level of knowledge of the international, European and Spanish market.

On the other hand, the training at Philosophy provided me with much needed tools, such as thought processes, critical reading, thinking independently or discerning important information.

5. Where would you like to direct your professional career in the coming years?

Since I was a child I have wanted to do political degree program in Venezuela, and I have certainly oriented my future towards that goal. But I do not want to enter the political arena without first having known the private sector, so in the coming years I would like to continue working in positions of political analysis and public affairs for the private business . On the other hand, I am very interested in fields related to oil and gas, natural resources, energy, defense and strategic industry.

6. What committee would you give to current PPE students?

Never stop learning. PPE students are characterized by being curious and thinkers, but in order to do it in the best way we must keep learning every day. Reading about our passions, studying what interests us, keeping up to date with what is happening in the world... They should always keep in mind what motivated them to choose this degree program.
