NEWS FROM DEPARTMENT:
Role of endothelial NADPH Oxidase 5 in thrombosis
Javier Marqués Cantero, doctorate student of the department has just published his work: "Endothelial NADPH oxidase 5 overexpression promotes thrombosis and alters thrombus composition by sex-dependent mechanisms in mice", in the Journal of Thrombosis and Haemostasis, as part of his doctoral thesis defended last year 2024.
This work, performed in partnership by the department of Biochemistry and Genetics of the University of Navarra, Navarrabiomed and CIMA, describes for the first time the direct role of NOX5 in thrombosis. It also describes important sex-dependent mechanisms that influence thrombus training and composition. The study has been led by Guillermo Zalba and Elena Ainzúa, María Martínez Azcona and Victor Marqués have also worked on it. [+]
