The department of Philosophy of the University of Navarra, of agreement with the Identity and Mission of the University, has the function of seeking excellence in the development of research and teaching in the field of Philosophy.

The mission of department is to promote the research activity and professor of its professors and the training of students of Degree, Master's and Doctorate in Philosophy. In addition, it provides philosophical training to students from other centres, mainly through collaboration with the Institute Core Curriculum and the School of Theology. Finally, it provides the rest of the University's disciplines with a theoretical basis and a global and integrating vision of knowledge.

The department aims to embody with a special commitment the values of love of truth, coherence of thought and life, freedom and responsibility and the culture of dialogue and tolerance, disseminating the values of the University in society and collaborating with other university centres in teaching and research.
