The Master's Degree is aimed primarily at professionals with training university degree in Canon Law, Law or Theology, and others with experience in canonical marriage proceedings (*).
* This Master's Degree has the necessary requirements and approvals to be taken into account by the Bishops as a qualification to perform specific functions in the ecclesiastical courts.
What do you learn in this Master's Degree?

The acquisition by students of an adequate understanding and ability to analyze the concepts of Anthropology, Theology and Canon Law.

The knowledge of the laws in force in the law of the Church, with regard to marriage and the development of the causes of marriage nullity.

The training of the students for the study of a de facto status and to rule on the possibilities of accompanying people (or the steps to go to an ecclesiastical court).

Qualification of students to participate in the marriage proceedings of the ecclesiastical courts, as lawyers, defenders of the bond, notaries, judges, experts, etc., according to the canonical norms in force.
Student conditions
There are two possible student profiles:

Candidates who have completed the programs of study Degree programs of study high school program in Theology supported by a Universitydegree scroll of high school program in Theology), licentiate degree in Canon Law, or Degree / licentiate degree in Law.

Candidates who have another university Degree and at the same time have professional experience in the canonical field, in matrimonial processes or related activities.
Application for admission
In order to enroll in the Master's Degree University of training Permanent at Master's Degree in Matrimonial and Canonical Procedural Law it is necessary to comply with one of the following requirements:

Be a graduate or graduate in Canon Law or in Law;

Have obtained a high school diploma in Theology endorsed by a Universitydegree scroll of high school program in Theology);

Have obtained another graduate or graduate degree scroll along with experience in the field of canonical matrimonial causes.
The application of Admissions Office is done through portal miUNAV(https://miportal.unav.edu/), where the Admissions Office and academic procedures are managed.
In addition, the candidate will be able to contact Ms. Cristina Bozal(canonico@unav.es), from the administrative office of the Master's Degree, for matters related to admission and enrollment.
The board Directive of Master's Degree is responsible for questions concerning the application of Admissions Office.

Photocopy of the university degree (graduate, diploma holder, etc.) or receipt of having applied for its issuance.

Brief written statement explaining the motivation for the realization of Master's Degree.
The enrollment fee for the academic year 2025/2026 is 3.918,60€ (60 ECTS credit). An administrative fee of €95 must be added to this amount.

One-time payment: By indicating the account issue , by check or wire transfer.

Deferred payment: At the time of formalizing the enrollment the student must pay at least 25% (this part may include the reservation of place, if previously paid). The rest will be paid by position at card of credit in three installments established with Office of the Registrar.

Bank loans and credits: The University attendance Service has compiled extensive information on bank loans and credits from various entities.

installment paymentSpanish students or students with residency program legal status in Spain may take advantage of this payment system that allows the amount of the enrollment to be divided into 14 equal monthly installments, by using the financing plan agreed with the main Banks and Savings Banks. In this modality of installment payment, for every 1,000 euros deferred, the monthly payment is approximately 102.89 euros.
Admission application for academic year 2025-26
Admissions to study the Master's Degree in the 2025-26 academic year will be made through the miUNAV portal , on the website of the University of Navarra.
- The deadline to apply for admission will remain open until June 15, 2025.Portal myUNAVPortal
Candidates will be placed on a "waiting list" as of July.
- At apply for the Admissions Office, from the administrative office of Master's Degree they will contact contact with the person requesting the application, to facilitate the process.
- As with all training programs at the University of Navarra, Master's Degree will be offered normally if it has a minimum number of students issue .
enrollment 2025-26
Admitted students must formalize the enrollment on the dates indicated in the communication of Admissions Office. Said enrollment can be formalized from outside the University of Navarra, through Portal miUNAV, on the University's website.
Discount for groups coming from Ecclesiastical Courts
A 25% discount is offered for groups of at least 4 people from the same Tribunal.

The limit of credits that can be validated is 15% of Master's Degree (9 ECTS credit). In the case of subjects studied at the University of Navarra, the maximum number of credits that can be validated is 25% (15 ECTS credit). In the case of specialization program in Matrimonial Law (from the School of Canon Law of the University of Navarra), up to 33% of the credits may be validated (20 ECTS credit).

For the validation of the subject a 10% of the enrollment of such subject will be paid.
