Cross-country skiing, also known as "Nordic" skiing, appeared in Scandinavia as a means of traveling over the snow during the long Nordic winters. It was from 1800 onwards that skiing took on sporting connotations.
It is considered one of the most complete sports, since it works more than 90% of the body muscles. It is also considered sustainable and respectful with nature, since ski lifts are not used as in other ski modalities. It is practiced in flat circuits or with not very pronounced slopes that are prepared with snow grooming machines.
You can practice cross-country skiing in the Larra-Belagua ski resort, located in the Roncal Valley, in plenary session of the Executive Council Navarre Pyrenees. You can do it by the hand of Roncal teachers qualified by the Spanish Ski School (TD2) with extensive experience in cross-country skiing teaching .
