Objectives

Homage to Barandiaran in 1977. file University of Navarra

On the occasion of the celebration of the 50th anniversary of its creation, the Chair of language and Basque Culture updates its main goal of promote the dissemination of Euskera and Basque culture in the university space through the following actions:

1. Promotion of the teaching in Basque and in Spanish on topic Basque, starting with the offer of a pathway of programs of study Basque, of progressive implementation in the School of Philosophy and Letters, which will have the character of accredited specialization for the Degrees of Education.

2. Promotion of the multidisciplinarity of the Chair by means of joint activities with other centres and Schools, in order to bring an important part of our linguistic and cultural heritage closer to students from all over the University.

3. development of the academic research , focusing mainly on programs of study on Basque ethnology, history and culture.

4. knowledge dissemination of Basque culture through the projection of the Chair beyond the university sphere, establishing relations with institutions and groups in the surrounding area that work in favour of Basque culture, and offering activities open to all citizens that, from an unequivocally academic approach, can be a place for meeting of different sensibilities.
