competitionIn this summer course we screen five documentary films of extraordinary quality, which have been finalists in the latest editions of the LabMeCrazy Science Film Festival, the international scientific film festival organised annually by the Science Museum of the University of Navarra. Each screening is followed by a colloquiumwith a specialist in the subject topic.

Taking into account the lack of female references in science that favour their social recognition and contribute to awaken scientific vocations among women, we have selected some films directed by women, such as My Octopus Teacher (Pippa Ehrlich) or My Love Affair with the Brain (Catherine Ryan). We have also included in the colloquia a cast of mainly female specialists. In addition, the cycle closes with the film My Love Affair with the Brain, which deals with the life of the American neuroscientist Marian Diamond, discoverer of the plasticity of the brain, whose work and biography are an example of brilliance, tenacity and passion for science, a field in which the male perspective is hegemonic.
