The School of Architecture offers the opportunity to take the Master's Degree in Architecture together with the Master's Degree in design and Environmental Management of Buildings or the Master's Degree in Real Estate Strategy and Business/Master in Real Estate. In this way, you will be able to obtain a second official qualification and your professional profile will be more attractive to specialised employers in the sector.
Internships
Managed by the Internship and Training Service and employment
The Internship Service and employment is dedicated, on the one hand, to generate opportunities through the continuous contact with the most relevant programs of study and companies in the architecture sector and, on the other hand, to provide students with the necessary training to take advantage of them. In addition, students interact on a daily basis with professionals who have a high hiring power.
The Study program includes external internships aimed at giving the student first-hand experience of professional practice, putting into practice the knowledge acquired throughout the programme's teaching period.
The placements are assessed by a team of internal and external tutors. The external tutors of the institutions where the students carry out the internships are responsible for the appropriate selection and integration of the students in the study or business, paying special attention to the use of the internship and the adaptation of the students to their respective teams.

Case method
The programme uses the case method as a system of teaching, which consists of solving real problems involving thorough analysis of the facts and proposal of solutions and alternatives. To get the most out of it, student is required to prepare each case individually and then discuss it in a team before attend at discussion on class directed by the teacher. It is a process that enriches learning due to the contributions of the other class colleagues and the solution proposed by the teacher.
Phase 1. Individual study
The student is only confronted with the problems it faces in order to be able to analyse them in depth and offer its own solution.
Phase 2. teamwork
All cases are discussed in teams, so that the individual analysis is enriched by the approach of the other colleagues.
Phase 3. Plenary session (class)
The teacher leads the students' discussion at class. Their role is to ensure that the analysis is rigorous and considers all possible alternatives.
In addition to this, the following learning methodologies are also used:
-Lectures by the lecturer in which the fundamental points of subject are set out in order to prepare the student for practical subjects student . The blackboard, computer, projections, etc. will be used for this purpose. It is advisable for students to go to class having prepared the corresponding Materials , which will be available beforehand.
-Discussion of problems posed by the teacher and their public discussion. Previous personal work and the organisation of the discussion in working groups are required.
-Case discussion. Through the analysis of real cases, students and academic staff engage in a process of in-depth discussion about the circumstances faced by a professional in the world of architecture.
-Simulation of professional situations. The starting point is a scenario similar to those faced in the practice of the architect's profession so that the student, personally and by group, adopts different roles and acquires the work habits that characterise the profession.
-Address of project Final Degree and/or Master's Thesis.
-Tutoring. Sessions with the lecturer and/or with the tutor internship.
- Preparation of reports, briefs, opinions and the like.
Training at business and address
The Master's Degree in Architecture incorporates knowledge of business and human resources that open up a new horizon in the curriculum of student and which will be taught with the collaboration of professors from the IESE Business School.
- You learn to analyse business situations, interpret data to diagnose the financial situation of a business, handle financial accounting and management control data for decision making and define competitive business strategies.
- The master's degree also provides knowledge in the field of people management and negotiation in order to be able to develop professional activity leading processes and negotiating with the different agents involved in building or urban planning.
- Marketing, commercial management or new information technologies are other aspects that you learn to handle with the aim of being able to manage the deadlines and the human and monetary resources necessary to bring these new products, technologies or innovative services to the market. goal
- This training enables the development of the qualities of entrepreneurship, leadership and social commitment inherent to the profession of architect and will provide profile with a clearly differential value.
- It offers the opportunity to gain knowledge of project management, acquiring skills and competencies ranging from analysis, planning and execution of project, to knowledge of leadership and coordination of work teams.
- Students will be able to develop a project in all its phases, as well as develop new strategies to ensure success by planning budgets, quality, deadlines and efficient use of resources.
project Final Year
The project Final Project is developed from the beginning of the master's degree until the end of it, going through the different phases of Sketch of project, project Basic and project of Execution.
It consists of an integral architecturalproject of a professional nature in which all the competences acquired during the training process are synthesised, developed to the point of demonstrating sufficiency to determine the complete execution of the building works involved, in compliance with the applicable technical regulations and management assistant .
The project Final Degree is studied in small groups of a maximum of 15 students, which allows the student to be permanently advised by a personaltutor and three professors from department of Construction, Installations and Structures; in such a way that the training is completed with a complete exercise of the skills acquired and a general essay of integration of all the subjects studied for the practice of the profession of architect.
The TERMINUS exhibition sample the best Final Projects of the students of the Master's Degree in Architecture of the University of Navarra. The exhibition is renewed every year with the best Final Projects of each year, and can be visited in different cities in Spain during each academic year.
Internships
The architecture sector has faced major changes in recent years that are generating a change of model and the rapid transformation of the sector. These changes mean that the sector is demanding professionals with excellent design, technical and management training, who have developed skills such as resilience, flexibility, adaptability, negotiation and collaboration, global vision, analysis and decision-making.
From the beginning of Master's Degree students will have at their disposal the Internship Service and employment of the University of Navarra, which will provide a personalizedcareer guidance and training in selection processes to make their employment rate a success.
During ≥3 months (from May to August/May), you will carry out the professional internship, in which the student will put into practice and perfect the knowledge acquired. These internships are in accordance with the labour agreement of each of the companies offering places.
The University of Navarra's School of Architecture has agreements with more than 300 top-level companies and studios .
The student has the possibility to choose among the offers that the Master's Degree receives or to carry out an individual search and staff for such internships. In both cases there will be follow-up by the Internship Service and employment.
Advice
Advising is an indispensable element of the University of Navarra's project educational , which aspires to the integral formation of students. The advisor is an essential figure who will accompany student in their academic journey, providing student committee and guidance so that they can develop all their potential and make the most of all aspects of their professional future. At final, a personalised development plan is provided.
During the first days of the course the student chooses who will be their advisor, who will also be their tutor of the project End of Degree and their tutor academic during the curricular professional internships.
