Examination of Degree or test orally by licentiate degree

In the oral test of licentiate degree both the theological knowledge of the student and his didactic and pedagogical abilities will be evaluated. The Departments will organize the appropriate means to facilitate the preparation staff of this oral examination from the beginning of the first course of licentiate degree (counseling staff, seminars, sessions of work, etc.). To take the Degree exam it is necessary to have previously C the work of research or thesis of licentiate degree.

The exam will take place in an oral and public session, and the student must show his theological knowledge and his capacity for the teaching. Specifically, he/she should mention an adequate basic bibliography in order to exhibition of topic, and expose the topic in a clear and orderly manner following a well-structured script that allows him/her to develop, in the established time, all the points of interest.

In the exhibition of dogmatic and moral themes, the student must show an adequate understanding of dogma and the theological questions involved. In the scriptural and historical themes, he should show his knowledge of the methodology proper to the exegetical and historiographical sciences and, at the same time, the interweaving of this knowledge with theological and doctrinal problems.

On a date and at a time to be fixed by Office of Student Affairs the oral test will take place, which will be conducted as follows:

1º. The students prepare a topic, after drawing lots on the day of the defense of the minor thesis.

2º. On the fixed day, the student will present the chosen topic for 30 minutes before the examining board and, after the exhibition, will answer the questions that the members of the examining board want to ask him/her about this topic or others of the syllabus, in order to check if the student has the breadth of knowledge and maturity required to obtain the Degree of licentiate degree.

3º. Finally, the court will evaluate the oral test in camera and will proceed to the grade of the Degree of licentiate degree, as "Pass" or "no Pass".

Students who pass this Degree may access award extraordinary. At the end of the course, a tribunal will consider the awarding of one or two extraordinary prizes among the students who have obtained A.
