First participations in the Winter Games

The Nagano Paralympic Games were the first time that sportsmen and women from Navarre took part in the Winter Games.

Rosa Jaca was born on 10 May 1977. She participated in the 5 km and 10 km Nordic ski races. She finished 15th in the 5 km race and dropped out of the 10 km race.

Javier Batista was born on 28 June 1978. He was a member of the Spanish Nordic ski team. He took part in the 5 and 10 km races, finishing 32nd and 31st respectively.

Iosu Hernández(26-08-1980), born in Bizkaia, started and developed his sporting career in Navarre, degree program . He took part in the Nordic skiing team in the 5 and 10 km events, finishing 33rd in the former and 32nd in the latter. Blas Arrónizassisted him as coach.
