Universities are in a process of accelerated innovation. They operate in a global scenario, with political, cultural and geographical changes. In recent years, debates about public funding and digital transformation have become more pronounced, questioning the validity of the traditional "rules of the game".
The emergence of these factors directly influences the governance of universities. Managing higher Education institutions has become a complex and demanding task that requires specific and continuoustraining . In an increasingly competitive environment, universities need to design strategies to become highly differentiated and relevant centers that continue to make a valuable contribution to society. They must be recognized and esteemed in order to attract the best students, professors and researchers; and they must gain the support of funding, political and social institutions. These facts make reputation an essential intangible asset for university governance.
The University of Navarra's Center for University Governance and Reputation began in 2015 with the aim of promoting training and research on the governance and management of intangibles in higher Education institutions. Since then, numerous activities have been held with the participation of several hundred rectors, vice-rectors, deans and academic managers from universities around the world.
The Center for University Governance and Reputation promotes interdisciplinary programs of study on university governance, communication and management , and analyzes the most developed university systems from an international perspective.
