Dr. José Manuel Moreno Villares is also medical director of the Clínica Universidad de Navarra in Madrid and co-director of the Pediatrics department of the same clinic. He is a specialist in pediatrics with outstanding experience and training in Pediatric Nutrition and Pediatric Gastroenterology. He is a graduate in Medicine and Surgery and Doctor in Medicine, both degrees from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid, and Master's Degree in Bioethics and Biolaw from the Universidad Rey Juan Carlos de Madrid. He has made training stays in the Division of Gastroenterology and Nutrition of the department of Pediatrics at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).
He has been an attachment physician in the Pediatric Department of the Hospital 12 de Octubre in Madrid, and has extensive experience in pediatric clinical attendance , especially in complex cases related to home artificial nutrition and pathologies that require specialized nutritional support.
Dr. Moreno Villares is also Professor of Pediatrics at the School of Medicine of the University of Navarra and has actively participated in research projects, with lines of interest in pediatric nutrition, nutritional support and intestinal pathologies. Author of numerous publications in national and international scientific journals, as well as book chapters, he has also played editorial roles, highlighting his work as Director of the journal Nutrición Hospitalaria. He was coordinator of the Nutrition committee of the Spanish association of Pediatrics from 2014-2022.
Dr. Miguel Ruiz-Canela is Full Professor and director of the department of Preventive Medicine and Public Health at the University of Navarra. He holds a graduate in Pharmacy from the University of Granada and a PhD from the University of Navarra. He also holds a Master's Degree in Public Health from the University of London (London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine).
His research focuses mainly on the relationship between per diem expenses, lifestyles and the prevention of cardiometabolic diseases. He has been principal researcher in projects funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in the United States and the Instituto de Salud Carlos III in Spain. His research on the prevention of atrial fibrillation, currently the most prevalent cardiac arrhythmia, stands out. Also pioneering are his projects related to culinary medicine, an emerging field that studies how the transformation of food influences health, and promotes cooking as a tool to encourage healthy lifestyles among health professionals, patients and the general population.
The Dr. Marian Zulet Alzórriz is Professor in the department of Food Science and Physiology of the School of Pharmacy and Nutrition of the University of Navarra. She holds a degree in Pharmacy and a PhD from the same university, where she currently holds the position of Vice-Dean of the Office of Academic Affairs.
He has led numerous research projects that have contributed significantly to the advancement of knowledge in the field of Precision Nutrition, with special emphasis on non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). Her research career sample an outstanding issue of publications in high impact scientific journals, book chapters and doctoral thesis direction. She is a researcher at the research center in Nutrition of the Instituto de research Sanitaria de Navarra (IdISNA) and member of the research center Biomédica en network en Fisiopatalogía de la Obesidad y Nutrición of the Instituto de Salud Carlos III (CIBEROBN).
She combines her research activity with teaching in the Degrees of Pharmacy, Human Nutrition and Dietetics and in the double degree program in Pharmacy and Nutrition at the University of Navarra. In addition, she has assumed academic responsibilities as director of the department of Food Science and Physiology and the European Master's Degree in Food, Nutrition and Metabolism.
Dr. Cristina García-Fresca has a degree and PhD in Biological Sciences from the University of Navarra. She has complemented her training with high-level programs, such as the "Senior Management Program for research, Innovation and Transfer Institutions" at IESE and the GADEA Science Foundation.
Since 2016, she held the position of assistant to the Scientific Director of the Institute for Culture and Society, where she led the design of assessment systems, the elaboration of strategic reports and the management calls for proposals. She was also manager of the planning and monitoring of indicators, the identification of institutional needs and the proactive attraction of competitive funding at national and international level.
Previously, she was manager of the National Projects department of the Research Management Service of the same university, where she acquired a comprehensive vision of the project life cycle. She coordinated teams, designed and delivered training sessions and led the implementation of management tools, strengthening her profile as a specialist in strategy, operations and impact improvement in research institutions.
