The research line on Theology of work is built upon the research project Strategic Line - PIUNA "The meaning of work in recent theology".
The project studies how to contribute from recent Christian theology (Catholic, Protestant and Orthodox) to the understanding of work in the current context. The project, which consists of a first theological phase and a second interdisciplinary phase, seeks new perspectives from which to think about work, so that the future of work is inspired by categories such as creativity, relationality, service, solidarity and virtue.
The workshop "Theology of work: new perspectives" will be held in Pamplona on May 30 and 31, 2023. The members of the research project will engage in dialogue with other qualified professors coming from various international universities.
The interdisciplinary study is part of the "work, care and development" line of the Strategy 2025 of the University of Navarra.
Project's goals
The team will study theological works published since the second half of the 20th century, paying particular attention to the fundamental dimensions of the human being.
A multidisciplinary research will propose a revision of the current social and development model playing out principles of action that may influence the socioeconomic system.
The project will explore the contemporary implications of the message of sanctification of work, which is at the foundational core of Opus Dei, whose centenary will be commemorated in 2028.
