Microbiology and Food Safety Area
The Microbiology and Food Safety Section responds to the needs of industry in relation to all activities involving microbiological testing. In the case of hotel and catering companies, consultancy and training services are also offered.

Analytical: We offer a wide range of analyses and tests to control your products or processes (final product or in different stages, surfaces and air, installations and equipment, manipulators). The laboratory is GLP-certified for microbiological efficacy and stability studies (see certificate).

Projects: Our specialists put at your disposal all their training and experience in Research activities (development of projects research and development in collaboration with Industry) and Consulting (consultations related to microbiological problems during food production, storage and distribution).

Services for catering companies: We offer our service consultancy service HACCP for companies that intend to establish the self-control system Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (design, implementation and follow-up audits). We can also develop the management plan for allergens in your food supply according to Regulation (EU) 1169/2011, as well as the study of food waste generated in your business to establish measures to reduce it. Finally, we address training tasks of staff and food handlers in those issues related to food safety in which your business is interested.
Certifications
The laboratory of Microbiology of food and water of CIFA of the University of Navarra has the following certification:

Recognition by the Government of Navarra of compliance with the Principles of Good Practice of laboratory (GLP) for the performance of microbiological studies of antibiotic efficacy, fungicidal efficacy and preservative efficacy (see certificate).
