The project

"file Vivo de Fitero" is an intergenerational project initiative launched by the University of Navarra at partnership with the residency program San Raimundo Senior Center in Fitero, the Juan de Palafox Public High School ( high school Público), and the San Cernin High School ( high school ) in Pamplona. The project is based on a simple idea: a town’sreport also lives on in the people who built it.

Through interviews, conversations, and shared activities, the seniors at the “ residency program ” have the opportunity to recall and pass on memories, experiences, traditions, and ways of life from Fitero to younger generations.

Children and young people thus become the protagonists of a process of listening and finding, learning about the history of their town through the people who have lived it. From this meeting emerges a file that brings to life thereport of Fitero, built on the voices, memories, and experiences of its residents.

The " project " also aims to promote the emotional well-being of older adults, foster intergenerational bonds, and strengthen the connection between the " residency program " and its community. The initiative is supported by the Government of Navarre.

The older adults They are the protagonists of the process. Based on various topics related to their life stories and the history of Fitero (school, the “ work,” festivals, traditions, family life, local businesses, the countryside, emigration, Christmas, and local customs, among others), conversations are sparked that allow them to recall memories and experiences.

The children and young people They participate by listening and showing curiosity, asking questions, and sharing their own experiences. In this way, the transmission of report is not conceived as a one-way activity, but rather as a exchange in which both generations learn from one another.
