Trying to Bring Light to a Dark Place: Lessons from an International “ partnership ” in Uncharted Territory
Trying to Bring Light to a Dark Place: Lessons from an International “ partnership ” in Uncharted Territory
Imagine that you live on the 19th floor of a building in Havana and rarely have electricity or water—or an elevator, for that matter. But you’re a doctoral student in an international project at research , and you have to produce results. Imagine you need to attach sensors to buoys in Havana Bay, but you have no way of physically reaching the buoys. Imagine you have to write articles and reports for the aforementioned project and rarely have electricity or a decent internet connection at home. How do you get by? That—and science, of course!—is what we’ll be discussing in this seminar.
