The Biodiversity and Environment Institute has modern facilities where to develop the experimental work . It has specific laboratories for the different areas of research, extensive analytical equipment and experimental stations and sampling networks in different areas of ecological interest. All this infrastructure is vital to advance in the knowledge of natural processes and to study the effects of anthropogenic activities on ecosystems and biodiversity at different spatial and temporal scales.

Thanks to the heterogeneity of the groups included in BIOMA, the Institute has a wide variety of laboratories where samples from different environmental spheres are processed, studied and analyzed, as well as facilities dedicated to different activities of research and support to the Institute.

→ laboratory of chromatographic and spectroscopic techniques.

→ laboratory for soils
→ laboratory mobile for atmospheric pollutant analysis
→ laboratory for water analysis
→ laboratory agronomic
→ laboratory microscopy
→ laboratory for taxonomy and species identification
→ laboratory molecular ecology

Part of BIOMA's research is carried out in experimental stationsthat guarantee long-term work at different spatial scales. Some of them are integrated in international monitoring networks that aim to monitor a wide variety of ecosystems in a coordinated manner.

→ Señorío de Bertiz Natural Park (network for integrated monitoring: ICP-IM)
→ network monitoring of heavy metals and reactive nitrogen in ecosystems(ICP-Vegetation)
→ Carrascal Station (reactive nitrogen in Mediterranean ecosystems)
→ Etxeberri Station (reactive nitrogen in agricultural areas)
→ Artxuri Station (network of observatories of ecosystems sensitive to climate change in the Pyrenees: REPLIM)
→ network of biodiversity observatories in Navarra.
