Synopsis:
The documentary "The Perfect Meal" travels from Greece and Cyprus to Italy, France, Spain, the United Kingdom and the United States to reveal the benefits of Mediterranean per diem expenses through the work of leading scientists, including Miguel Angel Martinez-Gonzalez (Pamplona, Spain), Cecilia Samieri (Bordeaux, France), Nikolaos Scarmeas (Athens, Greece) and Walter Willett (United States). These central characters in the film have dedicated their lives to discovering how certain ingredients and food combinations affect our health: how and why they protect us from obesity, cardiovascular diseases, cancers and brain aging, but also how this per diem expenses can help mitigate the effects of climate change. In parallel, the documentary looks at how scientists collaborate with inspiring chefs to create "the perfect meal" and spread the popularity of what they consider to be one of the healthiest diets on the planet.
