The Center for programs of study Josemaría Escrivá (CEJE), founded in 1995, is a section of the St. Josemaría Escrivá Historical Institute. Its main objectives are: to maintain a bibliographic collection; to provide specialized information; to orient researchers and promote programs of study historical information about St. Josemaría and Opus Dei.

The government of Opus Dei corresponds to the Prelate, who is in charge of directing the mission statement of Opus Dei to spread the universal call to holiness and of promote the apostolate of the faithful of the Prelature. After the death of Josemaría Escrivá, Blessed Álvaro del Portillo was appointed Prelate (1975-1994); then Bishop Javier Echevarría (1994-2012) and currently Bishop Fernando Ocáriz.
