Letter from the Dean

Welcome to the School of Canon Law of the University of Navarra!

For 50 years the School of Canon Law in Pamplona has been training many canonists. The School traditionally has a student body that comes not only from Spain, but also from many other countries, so that both because of the universal nature of Church Law and the origin of its students, the international outreach is a characteristic sign of our academic centre.

Priests and lay people study here who will later work in ecclesiastical courts, in diocesan curias, in teaching at universities and other academic institutions. We also train jurists who will later specialise in matrimonial law or who prepare themselves for the many and varied areas in which the informed opinion of a specialist in canon law and the civil effects of ecclesiastical activities is required.

The School of Canon Law of the University of Navarra is a qualified centre of research in Canon Law and in the Ecclesiastical Law of the State, as is evidenced by its periodicals, the wide collection of manuals and monographs published and the internationally accredited works of enquiry .
