James Lantolf, one of the world's foremost experts in second language learning methodology language, at the University

He has given a course to students of Master's Degree in teaching of Spanish as a Foreign Language language and has participated in a workshop of research together with more than twenty experts.

James P. Lantolf, Full Professor of Spanish and applied linguistics at Pennsylvania State University, and one of the world's leading experts on second language learning methodology language, has visited the University of Navarra, invited by the high school of language and Spanish Culture (ILCE) of the School of Philosophy and Letters.

language During her stay, she taught the training course "Sociocultural theory and language learning" to about twenty students of the Master's Degree in teaching of Spanish as a Foreign Language (MELE). In two sessions conference, the participants have deepened in the basic principles of Sociocultural Psychology and its implications for the pedagogical internship in the teaching of second languages. In addition, they have approached some sociocultural programs of study in the field of Applied Linguistics and the use of a conceptual pedagogy, of which Lantolf is an expert, in the teaching of Spanish as a foreign language language .

A world reference in psycholinguistics and sociocultural theory, Prof. Lantolf also participated in the "IV International workshop in sociocultural psychology and applied linguistics", organized by ILCE. A total of 25 experts from Spanish universities and from high school Cervantes presented several sessions on ongoing research projects inspired by principles of sociocultural theory in the field of applied linguistics.

graduate D. in Linguistics, James Lantolf has taught applied linguistics at the University of Delaware and Cornell University. He is currently Full Professor at The Pennsylvania State University, where he has directed the Education and research Center for Advanced Linguistic Competencies.
