Student Lauren Johnson will represent Philosophy and Letters in the final of La Voz de tu School
American student, studying Master's Degree at teaching of Spanish as a Foreign Language language
On February 21, the School of Philosophy y Letras celebrated its patron saint Day with various events in which students, professors and other professionals participated.
The workshop began with the celebration of Holy Mass in honor of Saint Isidore of Seville. At average in the morning, at the classroom Magna of Central Building, an academic act took place, in which Felipe Fernández-Armesto, Full Professor of the University of Notre Dame, spoke on "A very brief history of the entire world".
In the afternoon, the School of Architecture hosted the semifinal of the contest La Voz de tu School, organized by the Museum at partnership with Jana Producciones. language In the competition, the School of Philosophy and Letters was represented by ou r students Ángel Naveiro, who is studying Master's Degree in teaching of Spanish as a Foreign Language (MELE); Aleksandra Marchewicz, 4th year student of ; Arantza Gautier, 4th year student of ; Lauren Johnson, 1st year student of ; Lauren Johnson, 1st year student of ; Lauren Johnson, 1st year student of . After a very close competition, it was finally Lauren who, by popular vote and judged by a professional jury, won to represent our School in the final, which will take place on March 29th at the Museum.
A student at high school de language y Cultura Españolas (ILCE), Lauren says she learned about the contest in March of last year, while looking for information about the University, to begin her programs of study in Pamplona. "When I arrived here, a colleague from class encouraged me to participate." She did so with a rendition of Ed Sheeran's topic "I see fire": "Since I signed up for the contest at the last minute, I chose the one I had practiced the most, because I am learning to play it on the guitar".
She assures that in her life music plays a very important role: "It reminds me a lot of my family; each genre to a different person: country to my mother, 80's songs to my father, any song in Spanish to my sister...". Although she listens to "a little bit of everything", she says she enjoys country music and "Christian rock", a typical American genre, her home country.
