Cinema Club
Professor manager: Pablo Castrillo
Many cinephiles pass through the corridors of School from Monday to Friday. In 2021, a group group of third-year Audiovisual Communication students who watched one film a day got together with School professor Pablo Castrillo to create a space where they could sit down to 'think cinema'.
Organizing team
The organizers take over every academic year and are the ones who make position of call to the students through Whatsapp lists to get together in a classroom to watch and discuss a movie. During this course they lead the club:
Arturo Segura, 4th Year Audiovisual Communication
Santiago Ederer, 3rd Year Audiovisual Communication
WHAT IS IT?
The routine consists of giving some clues about the film, screening it and then giving way to a conversation. The duration depends on the dialogue that the film provokes and the questions surrounding it: What does this film achieve in the spectator, how does it achieve it? However, the screening may be moved to the Golem cinemas when there is a special program in Pamplona.
GOALS
The club's goal is expressed in a phrase by Eduardo Torres-Dulce, Spanish film critic: "More important than watching films is to stop and think about them". Hence its purpose is to choose good films and talk about them. Professor Pablo Castrillo comments that getting together to do so "facilitates reflection on the emotions, ideas or truths that arise from that experience.
