"Many of the subjects I liked the least are the ones I ended up having to use the most in the internship, ironies of working life."

Nerea Bautista (COM'10), development and fiction production project manager at DeAPlaneta.

1. What are you working on right now?

I am currently working at DeAPlaneta as a project manager for development and production of fiction projects.

2. What do you like most about your work?

A lot of things. I like that I have to read a lot and very diverse. We choose the projects we want to produce and we build them from scratch until the moment production starts. This involves being in the whole process of development and financing. This gives me the opportunity to travel and meet people from both the creative and business side.

3. What do you remember about your training at the School?

I remember several of my teachers very fondly, I loved the School in general. The radio practices running through the hallway, the TV practices on set and I remember that I loved History and Aesthetics with Carlos Muguiro, he was a finding for many of us. I remember his classes always full.

4. What has helped you the most in your professional career?

Many of the subjects that I liked the least are the ones that in the end I had to use the most in the internship, ironies of working life. I think that the levels of demand and the stress of the internship have been very decisive when it comes to entering the labor market. It is important to go out with confidence, and not to be afraid of any opportunity that presents itself. Another important factor that does not depend on us is luck, but we also have to work at it.

5. What committee would you give to a student who is now studying at the School?

Do not underestimate any subject and take advantage of the free choice ones. Depending on the path he wants to follow, they can be of great financial aid. And of course, don't lose the illusion of working in what you dream of, you never know.
