Level certification exams
To facilitate access to Degrees international, Erasmus+, internships abroad or postgraduate program programs, the institute of modern languages can certify the level of English, French or Italian through a certification exam. These certificates are not official but are valid for internal University procedures or if the recipient accepts them. Any person can take the exam in person.
The French level certification exams will be held at institute of modern languages from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm.
- Reading comprehension, grammar and vocabulary: Two texts with questions subject true/false or fill in information. Time: 35 min. Weight: 25%.
- Written expression: Express an opinion staff on a general topic (letter, essay, article), 160-180 words. Time: 45 min. Weight: 25%.
- Listening comprehension: Listening to 2 or 3 sound documents, with questions subject test and fill in information.Time: 25 min. Weight: 25%.
- Oral expression: Time: 15 min + 10 min (preparation). Weight: 25%.

French level certification exams will be held at institute of modern languages from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm on the following Fridays.
- Reading comprehension, grammar and vocabulary: Two texts with questions subject true/false or fill in information. Time: 60 min. Weight: 25%.
- Written expression: Express an opinion staff on a general topic (letter staff or formal, essay, article), 220-250 words. Time: 45 min. Weight: 25%.
- Listening comprehension: Listening to 2 sound documents, with questions subject test and fill in information. Time: 30 min. Weight: 25%.
- Oral expression: Monologue from a short text. Time: 15 min + 15 min (preparation). Weight: 25%.
English level certification exams (B1, B2 or C1), will be held at institute of modern languages from 16.00h to 18.00h on the following Wednesdays (academic year 2023-2024):
The duration of the written exam will be two hours, and the oral examination will follow the exam in a 10-minute time slot.
Each part of the exam is weighted similarly. It is not necessary to have a minimum grade in each section to certify a level.
The minimum result of the test for certify level is: 70% in B1, 60% in B2, and 60% for C1.
The payment of the 40€ exam fee entitles the holder to a single exam session.
- Reading comprehension, grammar and vocabulary (32 points): Multiple-choice, multiple-matching, and gap-filling exercises.
- Written expression (20 points): Writing an email and a story
- Listening comprehension (25 points): Multiple-choice, multiple-matching, and sentence completion exercises.

Registration
Price
The price of any of the language tests is 40 ¤, which must be paid in cash at administrative office of institute of modern languages or by bank transfer to account number ES44 3008 0001 11 2455270823 (Caja Rural), indicating in the concept: OC LANGUAGES / National Identity Card or Passport / Name and surname of student, before taking the exam.
Enrollment period
The deadline for apply for certification in a call for proposals is 3 days before test.
