ABOUT US
In the research group research : Family, Love, and Sexuality,” she studies meaningful interpersonal relationships (family, romantic partners, friends, educational relationships, financial aid relationships financial aid and other types of financial aid relationships), paying special attention to the role played in these relationships by emotional bonds, sexuality, love, and family ties. It also analyzes these areas as contexts amenable to prevention, training intervention.
Our work on a central question: how people learn to love, both in contexts of development Education in situations of crisis, breakdown, or relational suffering. From a scientific and interdisciplinary perspective, we investigate the psychological, relational, and spiritual processes involved in: (1) the development, integration, and/or restoration of affectivity and sexuality; (2) the formation and rebuilding of romantic and family bonds; and (3) the search for meaning, forgiveness, and flourishing throughout the life span.
DISTINCTIVE FEATURES
approach . Our work insights from psychology, medicine, Education, philosophy, theology, and other disciplines, fostering a broader and deeper understanding of the human experience. This multidisciplinarity shape in collaborative projects that address the complexity of interpersonal relationships from different levels of analysis.
An integrative anthropological perspective.We begin with an understanding of the person as a unified whole in which psychological, relational, physical, and spiritual dimensions are interwoven. This perspective allows us to view interpersonal relationships as central to the development of identity, bonds, sexuality, and the meaning of life.
The Centrality of Interpersonal Relationships. We view meaningful interpersonal relationships (family, romantic partners, friendships, and financial aid relationships) as the core of the human experience and as a privileged space for development, vulnerability, and transformation.
Focus on development change processes. Our work is work limited to describing phenomena; rather, it seeks to understand the processes of development, integration, and restoration of the individual, as well as the mechanisms of change involved in educational, preventive, and psychotherapeutic contexts.
Scientific rigor with a commitment to service. We combine rigorous research with a clear focus on applying findings, evaluating models and programs, and generating knowledge for professionals, institutions, and public policy. We view research a service dedicated to the well-being of individuals and families, with a special focus on contexts of vulnerability, relational crises, and educational and support needs.
International Reach. Our projects have a clear international focus, with a special emphasis on the Spanish-speaking world and the development of partnership and clinical partnership .
