In its first edition, researchers had to present their doctoral thesis in a maximum of 20 tweets, in a simple, accessible and attractive language.
Spanish teacher at the Cervantes Institute of Belgrade (Serbia), Àngels Ferrer Rovira (Serbia), Àngels Ferrer Rovira conducts research on the reasons why faculty training must go beyond learning and become a tool for staff and professor transformation. In her thesis she also advocates that "the emotional goes hand in hand with the cognitive": "Specifically, I am investigating the impact of a course aimed at teachers of Spanish as a foreign language (ELE) so that they appropriate tools to regulate situations in their daily lives that have a certain emotional charge," she explains. She assures that "these emotional situations do not only arise in the classroom, but also in the teachers' conference room , with the institution, and even in front of the computer, if they have to teach online. In the case of Spanish as a foreign language teachers, there is also the fact of working with other cultures.
To help regulate this subject of situations, Ferrer Rovira proposes tools based on the sociocultural theory of the psychologist Lev Vygotski, on whom the doctoral candidate is an expert: "We transform and develop thanks to the constant and dynamic interaction between who we are and the opportunities of the environment, as Vygotsky enunciated," she says. "Therefore, given that our view of the environment is not neutral, but is refracted by our staff history, it is necessary that those responsible for faculty training design materials that open the door to the staff history of teachers, and create small crises that generate clashes of ideas and emotions (experiences), because, by resolving them, new implicit maps will emerge that will allow transforming the professorperformance," she concludes.
