When can I go on exchange?

Our students can take up to two exchanges during the course of their degree, depending on the degree they take:

 First semester of 3rd and 4th course

 First semester of 4th and 6th year for the Double Degrees of ADE + Law and Economics + Law.

The choice and allocation of exchange is made on the basis of the academic transcript and the TOEFL iBT grade .

Each exchange university establishes its own minimum requirements .

Prepare your stay

  • Previous coursework:

  • Previous coursework: Minimum of two completed semesters at the time of nomination.

  • Language: An official test score must be submitted in the application, or a letter from your University verifying your level. Below are the minimum requirements; however, it is best to have more.

  • Students must be nominated by their academic coordinator from one of our partner universities. If your university does not have an exchange agreement with us, please send an email to intrel-eco@unav.es for more information. 
  • After nominations, students will complete an application.
  • Deadlines:
    Fall Semester deadlines (September-December)
    Nomination deadline: 1st April
    Application deadline: 1st May

    Spring Semester deadlines (January-June)
    Nomination deadline: 15th September
    Application deadline: 15th October

  • Important considerations:

    • The retake exams for both Fall and Spring semesters take place in June. All exams are in person and the University does not offer online exams.

    • Class attendance is mandatory. 

    • You must be present during the examination period, no exceptions allowed.  

  • You can enrol in business courses taught in English or Spanish. 

  • You have the opportunity to take Spanish language courses.

  • A specific Course Catalog for incoming students is made before the start of the academic year. For reference, please use this past COURSE CATALOG

  • Requirements for the course selection:
    For taking business classes in English - B2 level
    For taking business classes in Spanish - B2 level
    Academic workload - ECTS credit
    24 ECTS credit - Total minimum
    30 ECTS credit - Total maximum
    18 ECTS credit - Minimum from the School of Economics & Business
    12 ECTS credit - Max from outside the School of Economics & Business
    Overlapping schedules are not allowed

Students can rent apartments off campus, and can choose different accommodations depending on their needs (laundry & meal services, etc...). On campus housing is not available for exchange students.

During your stay

During the first two weeks of each semester we give you the opportunity to change courses, always according to availability

In the Spanish university system, regulated by the Government of Spain, modules/courses are graded on a scale of 0 to 10 points with the following qualitative equivalence: 

0-4.9: "Fail" (F)
5-5.9: "Pass" (D)
6-6.9: "Satisfactory" (C)
7-8.9: "Good" (B)
9-10: "Very Good" (A)
A special mention (A+), "enrollment de Honor" may be granted to up to 5% of the students in a group provided they have got a "Very Good" (an A). 

To pass a module/course it is necessary to get at least 5 points.

  • Abbreviations: Cred.: Credits (ECTS credit), Type: Type of Subject, Acad. Yr.: Academic year, Passed at/by, Examination (Sit/Re-sit, number), Gr.: Grade.

  • Type of Subject:
    MS: Compulsory (Mandatory) Subject, *: Basic, OS: Optional Subject.Passed at/by: UN: Home university, SA: Study period abroad, CH: Valid legal change of curriculum, TS: Transfer of Spanish credits, TE: Transfer of credits for equivalent courses, TR: Transfer of credits for the equivalent study period.

  • Grades: WB: Withdrawal before an exam, WD: Withdrawal during/after an exam, A+: Excellent, A: Very Good, B: Good, C: Satisfactory, D: Pass, F:Fail, TR: Transfer of credits, P: Pass (Pass/Fail).

One credit entails 25-30 hours of work.
