Emma Cohen de Lara
Emma Cohen de Lara (PhD University of Notre Dame) is a research fellow at the Institute for Culture and Society with the Civic Humanism Center for Character and Professional Ethics. She has over ten years of experience in teaching and mentoring in the liberal arts and sciences at Amsterdam University College, where she maintains her position as senior lecturer. She is a board member of the Association for Core Texts and Courses, and of the University Colleges Academics Network Netherlands. She is coeditor of Back to the Core. Rethinking Core Texts in Liberal Arts and Sciences Education in Europe (Vernon Press, 2017), Aristotle’s Practical Philosophy. On the Relationship between his Ethics and Politics (Springer, 2017), Plato and the Sophists. A Mirror for our Time (in Dutch, Valkhof Press, 2020), and Literature and Character Education in Universities. Theory, Method, and Text Analysis (Routledge, 2021).
