PROJECT COMPLETED (2017-2018)

Metaforun constitutes a permanent forum of research on metaphor, promoted by the project "Public discourse" (GRADUN) of the Institute for Culture and Society of the University of Navarra.

This forum aims to benefit researchers from different areas; among others: Linguistics; the programs of study literary, artistic and human creativity (Philology, Museum University of Navarra); the programs of study of Journalism, Public Communication and Audiovisual; the research on Theory of Thought and Philosophy of Language; the programs of study sociological; the research in Economic Science (since the terminology in this field is eminently metaphorical); Neuroscience (processes of production and comprehension of figurative language); the interdisciplinary programs of study on Religion (since religious experience is usually verbalized in the form of metaphors); or the work in Psychology and Language Acquisition. If, as Borges stated, "perhaps universal history is the history of a few metaphors", it seems necessary to consolidate a forum of these characteristics, which is also at contact directly and benefits from the research in Humanities and Social Sciences developed by Institute for Culture and Society.

MetaforUN has been funded by the University of Navarra's research Plan (2017 call) between October 2017 and September 2019.
