Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM)
This service offers the possibility of preparing samples for SEM observation. It is possible to prepare dry samples of any nature (particles, metal surfaces, fibrous material, plant components, animals or animal parts, etc.), for observation of their surface at high magnifications (between 50 and 50,000).
Equipment
Critical point (replacement of ethanol with carbon dioxide or CO2) for total desiccation.
Shader: Emitek K550 Sputter-Coater for gold, gold-palladium or carbon.
Rates
- Critical point from 100 % ethanol to liquid CO2: 60 euros
- Shading: 36 euros
These amounts will be increased by 20 % for indirect costs and VAT.
In the event that it is necessary to fill in the programs of study with any procedure not included in this offer, both parties will agree on the corresponding conditions.

All the work will be carried out by Dr. Enrique Baquero, who has extensive experience in handling samples of a very different nature. If the work performed is part of a published work (article or thesis ), it should be cited as external certification credits.
