In recent years, we have seen the emergence of new viral diseases: from Zika, COVID-19, monkeypox, West Nile virus, H5N1 avian influenza, swine fever... Where do they come from? What is the origin of all these viruses? Did SARS-CoV-2 escape from a laboratory? And most importantly, how can we prepare ourselves and avoid these new threats?
