Interdisciplinary research conference for PhD students from Humanities, Social Sciences and ICS
Although progress on knowledge involves training on a discipline, knowledge as such knows no borders. Beyond its undeniable social projection, cutting-edge research increasingly requires dealing with a number of different speeches, developing a set of mind and some habits that encourage interdisciplinary work. In addition to cultivating one's own discipline and becoming aware of its limits, it is important to develop the intellectual and moral capacities necessary to establish a fruitful dialogue with colleagues from other disciplines.
This is a workshop designed with the training of researchers capable of leading and/or joining interdisciplinary work teams in mind. To this end, the ICS has organised a workshop aimed at doctoral students from different areas of the Humanities and social sciences: a forum in which to present, discuss and communicate the results of their research to an interdisciplinary audience.
Although it is specifically aimed at PhD students from programmes such as Philosophy, Education, or Communication, among others, it is open to any other PhD student whose research is related to humanistic or social issues.
As a differentiating element of similar activities organised by some doctoral programmes, in this workshop:
PhD Students may submit a research project of their choice topic , not necessarily directly related to their thesis (collateral research, future projects, etc.).
The forum in which they will present their papers will be composed of researchers from the different Schools: it is not restricted to department and School in which the activity of PhD student is framed.
You can participate if you are a PhD student and your research interests are related to Humanities and Social Sciences, for example, if you are studying one of these programmes:
-
