Philosophical Biology and Anthropology
Drawing on the most recent discoveries in biology and the contributions of various philosophers, we seek effective ways of understanding and integrating scientific data within the universal ambition for knowledge that philosophy cultivates. Among others, we address issues such as the scientific status of biology, the distinctiveness of living beings, the relation between life and cognition, the unity of the living, physical> physics causality, tendencies, teleology, and we seek alternative conceptions of reality to the reductionist naturalism that, by default, seems to emerge from the usual ways of presenting the results of the methods of the sciences.
