Languages play a vital role in every aspect of social life and are essential for addressing a wide range of challenges, from meeting the real needs of migrant families in their social environment to facilitating communication among professionals in different fields.
ThePublic discourse group commitment to Education to promote best practices in education. On the one hand, these include initiatives focused on training to combat hate speech and misinformation. On the other hand, they include efforts aimed at improving Education and teaching .
Other applications relate to improving communication among professionals and institutions. In this regard, there is growing interest in studying the discursive strategies used by public and legal entitiesto communicate with different audiences, to inform citizens of their rights and obligations, or to explain relevant procedures. Communication in crisis situations and conflict resolution is also becoming increasingly important. Likewise, we work to explore in depth the communication techniques used in the health and care sectors and in any aspect of internship related to language use.
Some recent thesis supervised by members of our group on teaching and Education , the integration of student body , and learning strategies. We are open to partnership interdisciplinary projects in which linguistic analysis techniques play a decisive role. For example, in recent years we have collaborated on research projects research the communication of climate risks, the diagnosis of psychological traits through the analysis of patient essays, the application of linguistic criteria to the legal analysis of defamation and speech , NGO communication during migration crises, and the analysis of the effects of AI on thepublishing house.
