Illusion and persuasion. The art of the Baroque
Contradictory, heterogeneous and difficult to define, the Baroque is architecture, painting and sculpture, but also urban planning, gardening, decoration, scenography, fashion... All these arts collaborate and intertwine in multiple ways in this period, since no other style strove as hard as this one to integrate all the arts to create a total work with which to persuade and move the viewer. This edition of the lecture series Francisco Calvo Serraller aims, from the Prado Museum, where some of the masterpieces of this period are kept, to unravel and better understand this complex and fascinating artistic manifestation that, more than a style, is a culture that overflows chronologies and geographical locations.
