WHAT IS IT?
In the Odyssey, Athena, the goddess of wisdom, Athena, adopted the appearance of Mentor to accompany and advise Telemachus on his journey to Pylos and his return to Ithaca. With her name was born the program promoted by the committee of Course of the School of Philosophy and Letters with the goal to create a network of support from students for students. The most veteran, third and fourth year students, offer their committee and financial aid to the novices, to the first year students. Atenea is a program that puts in contact with the purpose of advising and guiding the new students in academic and non-academic matters during their first year at the School of Philosophy and Letters of the University of Navarra.
GOALS
The goal is to advise and guide the new student in academic and non-academic matters during his or her first year at the School of Philosophy and Letters of the University of Navarra. It is a program of students for students that has been created to alleviate one of the most common obstacles among first-year students. That is, their adaptation to a new way of life, being away from their family environment, their sudden autonomy and the hyper-stimulation of information due to the risk that all of this may have an impact on their academic performance and coexist with them throughout their university period, preventing them from taking full advantage of their time at our University.
Together with other tools offered by the University, especially the professor mentor, we propose a strategy to facilitate the student's inclusion in the university environment by establishing a peer-to-peer system, with the most senior students guiding the first-year students in this process by creating a support network and offering their committee.
WHO CAN BE PART OF IT?
The program is aimed at all first year students of the School of Philosophy and Letters of the University of Navarra; students of Degree, of Double Degree and of International Foundation Program.
He also invites the students of School from the second year onwards to collaborate as veterans.
