Doctoral Thesis
Evolution of psychological well-being factors in young adult university students.
Since its beginnings, the practice of psychology had been focused on a model of deficiencies, oriented to cure a disease or solve a deficiency. Counteracting this perspective, Positive Psychology arises: a psychological current that, without opposing or discarding the existence of pathologies and negative effects, proclaims itself in favor of competencies and abilities linked to mental health and well-being staff.
Understanding the necessary pathways to achieve an adequate positive development is something that is applicable to any stage of life, however, it is especially necessary in young adults, due to the individual, relational, professional and social transition corresponding to the stage of development in which they find themselves.
Under the degree scroll "Evolution of psychological well-being factors in young university adults" this doctoral thesis focuses on the factors involved in the positive development and well-being of emerging adults. Specifically, those variables considered goal-skills such as self-regulation, resilience and coping styles- are analyzed. In conjunction, the competencies associated with development and the establishment of an adult identity are investigated.
FOCUSES ON FACTORS SUCH AS SELF-REGULATION, RESILIENCE AND COPING STYLES INVOLVED IN THE POSITIVE development AND WELL-BEING OF EMERGING ADULTS.
