summaryOne of the aims of this talk isto clarify my use of the words sign and symbol in the book Mathematics and Religion. Our languages of sign and symbol. With this clarification I would like to contribute to the distinction and comparison of the languages we use to express scientific theories and concepts and those we use to express metaphysical and religious concepts. I believe that this distinction and comparison can help the dialogue between science and faith, because often the difficulties in the dialogue come from the lack of clarification in the language we use.
