The Diploma Surgical is a complementary degree scroll to the Degree in Medicine offered by the School of Medicine of the University of Navarra. Its goal is to provide students with the necessary skills to be able to start their professional career in the surgical field with greater confidence and skill degree program .
There are two types of medical specialties with surgical content:
Surgical specialties
General and Digestive System Surgery, Orthopedic Surgery and Traumatology, Neurosurgery, Aesthetic and Reconstructive Plastic Surgery, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Pediatric Surgery, Cardiac Surgery, Vascular Surgery, Thoracic Surgery.
Medical-surgical specialties
Urology, Gynecology and Obstetrics, Dermatology, Ophthalmology and Otolaryngology.

GOALS
It is exclusively aimed at students who at the time of the application are officially studying the 1st year of Degree in Medicine (Plan 2020).
All elective courses are theoretical-practical in surgery.
Practical training, carried out in the Anatomy dissection room conference room , the Simulation Centre of the School of Medicine, various laboratories of the School and the operating theatres of the Clínica Universidad de Navarra.
Preparation and defence of the Final Project Degree preferably on a topic related to one of the specialities in the surgical field.
PROFILE FROM STUDENT
The future student of Degree in Medicine + Diploma Surgical, in addition to a general interest in Medicine and innovation in new medical techniques of Degree, must be attracted by the world of surgery and new surgical techniques. The Surgical Diploma is exclusively addressed to students who at the time of the application are in the first year of Degree of Medicine at the University of Navarra.
ACCESS AND PERMANENCE
Admission will be done by filling out a form that will be enabled in ADI-Coordination 1 when admissions period opens.
Office of Student Affairs will decide the admission based on the academic transcript and a letter of motivation in which the candidate indicates the reasons for applying to Diploma. The School will resolve the applications in April.
Permanence: students must take and approve courses from Diploma until they reach, at least, the minimum number of credits foreseen issue .
ACKNOWLEDGMENT
Students who meet the aforementioned requirements will receive certification of their own degree and may apply for include a mention in the European Diploma Supplement, specifying the optional subjects of Degree that have been taken following the Diploma Surgical.
If any student, for a justified reason, decides not to fill in the programme, he/she must inform the Directorate of Studies at written request School .
Academic Structuring
PLAN 2018
The School currently offers a number of surgical subjects. Students at Diploma are required to take a minimum of 18 elective credits from the above subjects in order to obtain the Diploma.
Likewise, the Final Project Degree will preferably deal with an issue related to surgery or with some topic linked to specific subjects of Diploma.
