Stamps
Collection consisting of some 4,000 single prints, more than 200 illustrated books or compilations of prints, some of them large, and some original drawings and designs made by hand.
It contains works from the 16th to 20th centuries on a variety of subjects, including religious motifs, portraits, architecture, archaeology, drawing, engraving, Anatomy and travel.
Highlights of the collection
Of particular note are the works of the bequests of professors Francisco Íñiguez and Luis Moya Blanco, with a variety of themes and a predominance of large-format books on architecture, as well as the collection of engravings by the brothers Joseph Sebastian and Johann Baptist Klauber.
The engravers of single prints include Joaquín Ballester, Mariano Brandi, Vicente Capilla, Manuel Salvador Carmona, Joaquín José Fabregat, Jerónimo Antonio Gil, Francisco Jordán, Tomás López Enguidanos, Mariano Salvador Maella, Juan Fernando Palomino, Tomás Rocafort, Fernando Selma, etc.
Among the photographs is the collection Monumentos españoles, by the photographers Otto Wunderlich and M. Moreno.
The collection of goigs, or praises to the Virgin, Christ and the saints, published in the second half of the 19th century, stands out for its originality.
