Research projects

Many of the publicly funded projects on research incorporate the condition that the results be published in open access.

International projects: Horizon Europe programme

Researchers who are beneficiaries of a Horizon Europe project must ensure open access to all peer-reviewed scientific publications where the results of research resulting from this funding are published. The same applies to publications resulting from projects funded under the previous programme, Horizon 2020.

National and regional projects

Law 14/2011, of 1 June 2011, on Science, Technology and Innovation, establishes in its article 37 the obligation to deposit in open access the results of the research financed with funds from the General State Budget.
