The course is aimed primarily at 3rd year students of accredited specialization in Clinical Psychology. Places will be allocated according to transcript academic criteria. The issue minimum number of participants for the organization of the course is 14 students; and the issue maximum number of places for the course is 20 students (numbers to be confirmed).
PRESENTATION
The International Course in Clinical Psychology offered by the School of Psychology of the Universidad de los Andes is made up of four units that will allow participating students to: develop knowledge of the fundamentals of clinical internship , become part of an interdisciplinary team, develop skills in planning and elaborating preventive workshops, and foster basic clinical skills.

The students will be divided into groups and will have a supervisor who will ensure that the activities in the clinical field are carried out properly development . Students will participate in:
Observation of the process of assessment.
Observation of patient care.
Coordination team discussion.
Psychological and psychiatric supervision.
development and implementation of prevention workshops (Education)
Students will participate in theoretical classes where the following topics will be reviewed:
Psychopathology
Drug abuse and dependence
Psychoanalytic psychotherapy
Systemic and Family Therapy
Adult Psychological Diagnosis
Training in test application from assessment.
Clinical skills training.
Review of clinical cases and simulation activities.
Contents to be reviewed: Rorschach test, interview techniques, adult, family and couple intervention techniques.
Students will participate in:
development and implementation of Mental Health Prevention and Promotion workshops (in educational institution).

Students will register at the University of Navarra for Practicum II of Psychology, accredited specialization Clinical. By paying the enrollment of Practicum II at UNAV, it is sufficient and it is not necessary to pay any other academic cost of enrollment of the summer course at the University of the Andes. Flights and accommodation, as well as meals (food, etc.) are to be paid at position from student.
