Gloria Balderas studied Degree a Degree Spanish Literature at the University of Veracruz, Mexico, where she also studied for a Degree a Master's Degree Philosophy. She received her PhD from the University of Navarra with a thesis Natural Models: Robert Cummins' Theory of Representation, in which she proposed to reinforce the author's Pictorial Theory of Representation by changing the framework, replacing the model the machine with that of living beings. In addition to semantics and the explanation of cognitive abilities, she is also interested in hermeneutics and argumentation theory.

Ruth Garrett Millikan's teleosemantics has had a B on the discussion the naturalization of intentionality. In particular, to explain the normativity of the intentional, Millikan has proposed a theory of function based on natural selection.
