Lucas Muñoz, professor at the School, is featured in an article in Icon Design magazine.

The report describes Lucas Muñoz as "the most brilliant designer of his generation".

The print magazine Icon Design of El País has interviewed the designer Lucas Muñoz (Madrid, 39 years old), professor of our School of Architecture. In it, he is described as "the most brilliant designer of his generation".

The magazine's report makes a tour of the designer's main works based on the upcycling Philosophy , such as the Volivik lamp (2006), handmade with Bic pens imitating chandeliers. Afterwards, the report states that he flew to Holland to make a Master's Degree, where he stayed and opened a studio that he has maintained for the last seven years in Eindhoven. He ended up living in an abandoned house where he worked with recovered materials. That's where his tubular furniture was born, made from ventilation tubes, or the armchairs made of foam rubber and metal Structures . "The idea is always the same: with the most basic things you can create," says Lucas Muñoz in the report. The designer adds: "The most sustainable thing for a material is that a human being is fond of it. If you appreciate a vase for all the history behind it, you will want to keep it for life". We recommend you to learn more about his career and creations on his website.

In addition, recently it has been published in the digital version of El País the report "Lucas Muñoz Muñoz, the designer who wants to track (and recover) the waste of the center of Madrid". We recommend you to read it to learn more about his work.
