Ra. Architecture Magazine

Ra. Revista de Arquitectura, is an annual publication edited by the technical school of Architecture of the University of Navarra. Ra is a forum Pass for the expression of the results of study and academic discussion in relation to the various dimensions of interest in architecture and the city, understanding them as cultural realities of indisputable transcendence and impact and as an object of careful attention, study and research.

It aims to serve as a channel, specifically, for the intellectual production of Departments of Theory and History, Urban Planning and Architectural Projects, although from the outset it is open to articles and contributions from other professional and teaching institutions.

The latest issue of Revista de Arquitectura - indexed among the most prestigious scientific journals of its area- also contains articles by 20 national and international artists, architects, sociologists, biologists, etc., such as Dr. Manuel Quirós, environmentalist Cristina Freire, artist-designer Joel Blanco or vegan designer Erez Nevi Pana.

RA 24, 2022: Call for Papers

Réplicas Architecture as copy or invention / Replicas Arquitectura como copia o invención / Replicas Architecture as copy or invention

"The history of copying is as old as the history of architecture itself. If Pliny the Elder situated the origin of painting as the desire to reproduce the profile of a shadow, and Vitruvius did the same for sculpture when he described the Corinthian order as life opening up from death, the model as a copy of the natural would show the synthesis of both disciplines as the limit of all creative acts in the face of mimesis. For example, Roman architecture imagined as an aide-memoire of the Greek model , and whose distinguishing marks between originals and replicas were only recognisable in the details of words and their formal variations".
