Last Friday March 7 took place the jury of the projects of the students of the 1st Degree in design, carried out in the subject Design Studio II. This subject addresses the creative process in design through an integrated approach of theory and internship. Throughout the semester, students have worked on various projects covering topics such as packaging and ergonomics, upcycling, and sets and serialization.
During the month of February, the students worked on the 'Upcycling'project , whose goal was to design connections between two recyclable materials, easy to assemble and disassemble. In groups of 4 to 5 people, they carried out exercises in which they connected different materials in an intuitive and functional way. From these exercises, they selected one to develop a fully functional prototype that met the requirements of the project. At the jury, the students presented their results.
As part of the subject, the students had the participation of guest industrial designer Sina Sohrab, who shared his experiences and knowledge. Sina Sohrab is a designer whose work addresses cultural perspectives and behavioral narratives, the traces left through time and adaptation, as a way of defining future ways of living. Sohrab's work has been recognized and exhibited internationally and has won several design awards, including a network Dot 'Best of the Best' distinction and a Wallpaper* Design Award.
