School of Architecture master's degree students kick off the academic year at the Madrid Campus

87 students of 13 different nationalities started the academic year in the qualifying masters and double masters programs.

On September 10, the postgraduate program in Madrid welcomed the new students of the Master's Degree in Architecture (MUA), the Double Master's Degree in Architecture and Sustainability (MAS) and the Double Master's Degree in Architecture and Real Estate (MAR).

José Ángel Medina, Deputy Director of the postgraduate program of the School of Architecture, welcomed the students and invited them to live an experience of "change of scale and vision". The welcome workshop included presentations by the directors of the different master's degrees, Jorge Tárrago of the Master's Degree in Architecture; Purificación González of the Master's Degree in design and Environmental management of Buildings; Elena Lacilla of the Master's Degree in Strategy and Real Estate Business; and Aurora Monge, manager of the Double Master's Degree in Architecture and Sustainability of Pamplona.

The architect Elvira Pancorbo, from Malaga, starts this year the Double Master's Degree in Architecture and Sustainability (MAS) and tells us how she lived the first day of class:

"With the start of classes, we embarked on a new adventure. It was exciting to see that, even though we were almost 90 strangers, we all shared the same enthusiasm and the same expectation for this big step to complement our training as architects. The first impression was refreshing: the diversity of universities, cities and even countries of origin promises to be, without a doubt, a richness both professionally and as staff.

The inauguration of the course was totally motivating. The passion with which the Deputy Director and the directors of the three Master's Degrees presented the different programs filled us with energy to face the year. The topics of each Master's Degree were presented, which were very interesting. In addition, being able to take advantage of IESE Business School's business module , with the novelty of the new "case method" format, was exciting.

When the first group photo was taken, it was the perfect moment to get to know each other, as we were "forced" to do by the professor of the business module , Óscar González-Peralta. When we returned to the Magna classroom , there were no longer so many unfamiliar faces.

Finally, the presentation of the End of degree program Projects was the perfect finale to close a day full of emotions. We left inspired, motivated and excited.
