Yes, my university has an agreement with the School

If your university has an agreement with the University of Navarra Medical School School , it should nominate you as an exchange student. International Office Please contact contact or the person in charge of managing clinical rotations abroad at your university to check the following exchange conditions:

  • Duration of clinical placements.

  • Number of places and months of clinical placements.

  • Expenditure on enrollment and the cost of administrative fees.

For acceptance of clinical rotation applications you must comply with the following requirements:

  • Be nominated by the School of Medicine of origin at least 6 months before starting the clinical internship. In the case of internships in May, June, July and August, the deadline is 31 January.

  • Be student penultimate or final year of medical school.

  • Present the official certificate of B2 Spanish: for students whose language mother tongue is not Spanish.

  • Send the required and complete documentation at least two months before starting the clinical internship. In the case of internships in May, June, July and August, the deadline is 1 March.

Once the nomination has been received, the School will contact the student nominee at contact and send them detailed instructions on how to submit their application for admission via the online platform. 

In addition to identification and academic documents, student will need insurance from attendance for the duration of your stay and you will need to prepare the following supporting documents:

  • A letter of acceptance will be sent to accepted students with their corresponding service names.

  • Upon arrival at the University of Navarra and before starting the clinical practice, the student must go to the Service of mobility to pick up the identification badge and for orientation.

  • Students doing rotations have to apply for to their Clinical Tutor a report evaluation on our form or on the home university.

  • On the last day of their stay they should submit the evaluation report to the Service of mobility and apply for a certificate of stay.

No, my university does not have an agreement with the School

If your university does not have an agreement with the School of Medicine of the University of Navarra, you can apply for admission to the Programme for Visiting Students that takes place in the Clínica Universidad de Navarra in Pamplona and Madrid. Read the information below to see if you are eligible:

  • Our programme fits with your interest and with what your School medicine requires.

notice: Due to the current COVID19 pandemic, this programme is cancelled until further notice notice. 

For acceptance of clinical rotation applications you must comply with the following requirements:

  • Be student penultimate or final year of medical school.

  • Present the official certificate of B2 Spanish: for students whose language mother tongue is not Spanish.

  • Send all the required documentation in a single e-mail to intermed@unav.es with the subject "student summer visitor 2023" before January 31, 2023. It is very important that all documentation is sent at once and not in successive mailings. 

The internships offered are organised by blocks and student can apply for at most one (1) of the following blocks:

I Block: 04.05-29.05.2020

Block II: 01.07-31.07.2020

II Block: 03.08-28.08.2020

Students must choose whether they wish to do their internship at Clínica Universidad de Navarra headquarters in Madrid or Clínica Universidad de Navarra headquarters in Pamplona.

A list of at least 5 Departments in order of preference must be provided. If there are no places in any of the selected Departments , the service of mobility may allocate them another place.

Departments available at CUN Pamplona:

  • Area of surgery: General Surgery, Plastic Surgery, COT, Urology.

  • Internal Medicine Area: Cardiology, Digestive, General Internal Medicine, Internal Medicine, Hepatology, Infectious Diseases, Oncology, Nephrology.

  • Other Departments: Gynaecology and Obstetrics, Radiology, ENT, Ophthalmology, Paediatrics, Anaesthesia, Allergology, Dermatology, Neurology, Psychiatry.

Departments available at CUN Madrid:

  • Anesthesia

  • Cardiology

  • Surgical Specialities (Urology, COT, Vascular and Dermatology)

  • Medical Specialties (Digestive, Endocrine, Neurology and Psychiatry)

  • Gynaecology and Obstetrics

  • Internal medicine

  • Oncology/Hematology

  • Paediatrics and Obstetrics (Paediatric Emergency and Childbirth)

  • Radiology and advanced diagnostic methods (X-ray, CT; Nuclear Medicine and Endoscopy)

Programme admissiondecision date: end of February/beginning of March.

In case of acceptance student will receive an internship offer and will have 1 week to accept it.

IMPORTANT:

  • Allocations will be made on the basis of the number of requests received, the availability of the requested Departments and the selection criteria established by department.

  • Students from universities with which there is an agreement exchange agreement will have priority over visiting students.

  • In case there are no places at the requested department , the School may refuse the request or offer the rotation at another department available .

If you are accepted you will have to pay the fee of 911 EUR ( enrollment, General Office fees and accident insurance).

The Office of the Registrar of the University will contact contact with the accepted students (at the latest one month before the beginning of the rotation) to indicate the different methods of payment.

STEP ONE

Students should send all the documentation indicated above scanned, complete and in a single shipment to  intermed@unav.co.uk with the subject "student visitor summer 2023" before January 31, 2023. (Incomplete applications will not be accepted or outside of deadline): 

1. Pack of Admissions Office complete (in Spanish or English).

2. Letter of recommendation from a teacher at School where you are studying. 

3. Photocopy of accreditation of level B2 of Spanish (only in the case of students whose mother tongue is not Spanish language ). 

4. Proof of payment of the fee for processing your application 55,90 EUR. 

SECOND STEP

Accepted students must send a scanned photocopy of one of the following documents to prove that they are covered by attendance for the duration of the internship:

  • Private medical insurance document that covers attendance sanitary in Spain.

  • card European Sanitary.

  • card of Spanish Social Security.

  • Upon arrival at the University of Navarra and before starting the clinical practice, the student must go to mobility to sign the confidentiality document, pick up the identification badge and for orientation.

  • Students doing rotations are required to apply for to their Clinical Tutor an evaluationreport at our form or at the home university.

  • On the last day of their stay they must submit the report of evaluation to the Service of mobility and apply for a certificate of stay.
