summary:
The historical relationship between science and religion, particularly Christianity, is addressed. The speaker argues that, contrary to popular belief, modern science has Christian roots and that many prominent scientists throughout history have been believers. It is explored how the separation between science and faith intensified with modernity and how certain philosophers used scientific arguments for materialistic purposes. A contemporary resurgence of natural theology is discussed, where the knowledge of nature is used to argue for the existence of God. Finally, the importance of reintegrating a theology based on creation together with the theology of interiority is mentioned.
